Miss Kansas Lea Burke

   Kansas was born on January 1, 1980 at 3:37 a.m. in Fort Walton Beach, Florida to Mr. Dusty Burke and Mrs. Janis Burke. Two and a half years later her brother, Adam, was born.

Kansas and her family have lived in DeFuniak Springs, Florida for most of their lives. Her mother, Janis, is a family law attorney in Shalimar, Florida, and her father, Dusty,  builds spec homes at the beach. Currently he is building a 3 story home in Seagrove Beach, Florida; click here to view it: Adam graduated from Walton Senior High School in May of this year and is now a student at Okaloosa-Walton Community College pursuing his Associate of Arts degree.

 Kansas just graduated from Florida State University with her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She graduated from Walton Senior High School in DeFuniak in May of 1998, and then earned her Associate of Arts degree from Okaloosa-Walton Community College in December of 1999.  She is employed with Jack Rhodes, a consultant in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida part time. She was also just appointed director of a new Family Visitation Center in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. You can visit their website at:
